"Our bilateral relations that last 141 years show that there were more great, shining moments that contributed to the friendship and partnership of our two countries than there were misunderstandings, which we often like to express, but not to learn from it, but to regretted. Serbia has a place in the EU, that's our goal, just like our future goal is a strategic partnership with the USA, and we should work on that. Our bonds are unbreakable, no matter how many ups and downs, brilliant and less brilliant moments there have been. When everything is added up, there were many more shining moments in the relations between our two countries, such as when the Serbian tricolor was flying on the White House, or the rescue of American pilots in Operation Halyard, or all the economic and friendly ties of our two peoples throughout history. Although there were moments when we disagreed about some events in these areas, when Washington preferred Pristina to Belgrade, and there were moments when we were the only country in Europe that burned American flags. A lot has changed in recent years. Serbia's opinion is respected, there is support in political and economic relations," she said.

"Serbia has agreements or declarations on strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, China, France, Italy, UAE, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Egypt, why should it not have them with the USA, with which it has had bilateral relations for 141 years?" Not only because of more than 25,000 employees in companies in Serbia that exist thanks to American investments, but the times we live in can help friendships to be stronger. This is a time that brings numerous challenges both in the fight against climate change and when it comes to gender equality, but also energy transition, which is one of our national goals. We only founded the Serbian-American Friendship Congress four years ago, but we tried to do a lot to make the friendship and partnership between the two countries and two peoples visible and to constantly improve relations. Let's do everything so that our cooperation, friendship between two peoples and countries is crowned with an agreement on strategic partnership," said Deputy Prime Minister.
