Mihajlovic and Tyurdenev : Efficient realization of projects, possibility of NIS's investment in RES

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, PhD, talked today with Kiril Tyurdenev, General Director of NIS, about current and promising projects in the field of energy.

"We have defined the framework of the new energy policy, and strategic documents are being drafted. All this is part of the vision of ensuring long-term energy security and independence of Serbia. We agreed that NIS is an important part of the energy sector and that cooperation is necessary in order for projects to be implemented as efficiently as possible, because it is in the interest of our state and citizens. I am glad that NIS has a plan for the next few years and that it is strategically determined and expanding regionally. We want to see the realization of projects, that is important for us, especially when it comes to investments in new capacities that use renewable sources for energy production, "said Mihajlovic.

When it comes to the project of construction of TE-TO Pancevo, it was said that the action plan envisages finalization by the end of the year, when trial work is expected.

"First of all, thank you for your cooperation and support, because this ministry is always available when it comes to joint projects, and that is why we have managed to do more in the last year than in the previous six years. "When it comes to gas supply, we are waiting for a new contract between" Srbijagas "and" Gazprom ", negotiations are underway and we understand the current situation, but there will certainly be no problems with supply," Tyurdenev said.

The meeting also discussed the development of "Petrohemija" after its privatization, in accordance with new technologies, cooperation on new projects and the realization of existing investment projects in the Pancevo refinery, as well as the issue of storing mandatory oil reserves.
