Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, PhD, talked today with the main representative of the Chinese company CMEC, Li Xueqiang, and general director of CMEC representative office in Serbia, Ren Kailong, about the realization of the project for the construction of block 3 in the Thermal Power Plant "Kostolac B".
Mihajlovic pointed out that this is one of the largest construction sites in the energy sector and that the realization of the project so far is inadmissible, especially when it comes to the speed of design and the quality of the delivered equipment. "Serbia and China have excellent relations, primarily thanks to the friendship of our two presidents, Aleksandar Vucicand Xi Jinping.
You are not just one of the companies working in Serbia, you represent your country, which is a great honor and responsibility, just as we represent the citizens of Serbia. The current dynamics and delays with Kostolac B3 project do not benefit anyone. Serbian side is here, we will not stand by and observe the realization of the project, we will work even harder to help you, but you have to invest more effort and work, to make up for the delays, because the realization so far is unacceptable, and there is no compromise on quality. " said Mihajlovic.
At today's meeting, Deputy Prime Minister insisted that the level of monthly realization of the project be accelerated as much as possible in order to reach a satisfactory level by July this year, and pointed out that the Chinese company must work in accordance with international standards and contractual obligations. Li Sueqiang thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for the support and assistance, reminding that the large infrastructure projects in the previous ministry were completed thanks to her efforts. Ren Kailong once again expressed his belief that the project will be completed by the fall of 2022, and that the company will work in accordance with the agreed requirements and obligations, and that it will make additional efforts to deliver the equipment. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Serbia and PE "Electric Power Industry of Serbia".
