Mihajlovic with EDF representatives on cooperation in the energy transition process
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, PhD, talked today with the delegation of the French company EDF about the possibilities for cooperation in the process of energy transition.
"Serbia is in the process of energy transition and our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. We will determine the path and dynamics of achieving that goal through strategic documents that are being drafted, an integrated national energy and climate plan and a new energy development strategy, in which we consider different scenarios and possibilities for using all types of energy, including nuclear. "Our goal is to be energy safe and have a sustainable energy mix, and the focus in the decarbonization process will be on renewable energy sources and reversible hydroelectric power plants," said Mihajlovic.
Representatives of the French company introduced the representatives of the Ministry with their experience in the development of energy capacities, the technologies they use, as well as the high safety standards in power plants managed by EDF.
