Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, PhD, stated for the morning daily of RTS that there will be no increase in the price of gas in Serbia until the end of the year. She announced that the works on the interconnection Nis-Dimitrovgrad will start in September.
The price of gas will not change until the end of the year, because we have a contract with "Gazprom", and "Srbijagas" has the obligation to negotiate either a new annex or a new contract for the period after January 1, 2022. As for petroleum products, what is it is certain that the state will not increase duties and thus influence additional price increases, but what we cannot influence is the price on the world market. The price of electricity remains the same, there are no requests, no negotiations on a possible increase ", says Mihajlovic.
She points out that the diversification of gas routes is just as important as the diversification of energy suppliers.
"When we talk about the construction of the gas interconnection Nis-Dimitrovgrad, we are finishing the tenders for the selection of contractors and supervision, and the beginning of the works will be in September. This gives us another direction of supply, but it is also important to work on the diversification of suppliers, because we do not know what the situation will be on the world gas market, "Mihajlovic points out.
