Mihajlovic in Kraljevo: The beginning of the realization of the national goal of reducing energy consumption
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, phD, stated in Kraljevo that the signing and delivery of the contract on the allocation of funds to local governments to increase energy efficiency is the beginning of the realization of the national goal of reducing the consumption of electricity and heat. She said that this is the first step towards the rational use of energy, given the fact that the average household in Serbia consumes 40 percent more energy than other countries.
"The call lasted a month, and the interest was great. All criteria were met by 67 local governments, and so far one billion dinars have been allocated. This is an important day for everyone. "For the state, cities and municipalities, but also for each of us, for each household, which will be able to replace carpentry, insulation, heating boilers," said Mihajlović.
She stated that calls for companies and citizens are now following.
"The first public call goes to companies that will have to meet the conditions, ie to guarantee the price, deadlines and quality. The deadline for inviting companies that are announcing local self-governments is July 10. The next step is an invitation to citizens who are interested in this project. "Everything must be public, accessible and all deadlines must be respected," she pointed out.
Mihajlovic stated that she expects the first contracts with the citizens in August, and the works in September, as if the procedures and works will be controlled, and announced another public invitation by the end of the year.
Mayors of Kraljevo, Uzice, Medvedja, Boljevac, Sremska Mitrovica, Valjevo, on behalf of all local governments, thanked the Ministry for its help and support in preparing the documentation and starting the project. The Ambassador of Switzerland, Urs Schmid, emphasized the importance of the cooperation that exists and will continue in the field of economic development.
