Mihajlovic: Regional connectivity in crisis situation is the most important thing for preserving stability
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, Ph.D., said that in moments when the whole world is facing a crisis and changes, the most important thing is that Serbia maintains energy stability and cooperates with countries in the region. She pointed out that thanks to political and financial stability, we can realize projects in connection with the region.
"This is not one crisis, but a storm of crises." We had a financial, covid, post-covid crisis, when there was also a sudden jump in demand, after several months of decline, and now we have a war in Ukraine. All this completely changes the geopolitical situation on a global level and nothing will be the same again. It is important for us to be active, and that is why the "Open Balkans" initiative, launched by Serbia, is important, because the goal is to connect with all the countries in the region, to build gas interconnections, to connect in the high-voltage network as well, because it will means that we function better, have better negotiating positions, develop and preserve stability, which will be easier if we are an unavoidable route in energy, as we did in traffic. "Serbia is politically stable, we have a completely legitimately elected president, an assembly, we will soon have a new government, and we can move forward readily, strongly and strongly and implement the vision we have of what Serbia should look like in the next 20-30 years," said Mihajlovic in Velika Plana.
